Quay

Sell downloads with Stripe

Get paid for downloads on your own Stripe account.

Stripe takes the payment, but it does not host your file or email a download link. Quay adds the product page, the checkout link, and the expiring download page, while the charge lands on your connected Stripe account.

What Stripe does, and what it does not

Stripe processes the card and pays out to your bank. On its own, it does not store your files, send a download link after payment, or stop a link from being shared forever.

Quay fills that gap: you upload the file, set the price, and Quay creates the checkout and the delivery.

How the money moves

You connect your own Stripe account. Each sale is charged on that account, so the customer relationship and the payout stay with you. On Harbor, Quay takes an application fee on each paid order. Stripe's processing fee applies on your account as usual.

Card numbers go to Stripe checkout. They never touch Quay.

Refunds and access

Refund from the order and the download page stops working. Expiry hours and a download count limit how long a link stays useful, even before any refund.

Questions

Do I need a Stripe account to sell on Quay?

Yes. Buyers pay on your connected Stripe account, and Stripe pays out to your bank.

Does Quay hold my money?

No. The charge is on your Stripe account. Harbor's application fee is the only part Quay receives.

Can I use Stripe Payment Links instead?

Payment Links take payment, but you would still need to host the file and send it after each sale. Quay handles the delivery and expiry for you.
