Quay

Payhip, Gumroad, Quay

Payhip, Gumroad, and Quay on the same digital sale.

This page uses each company’s public pricing, not a private quote. Payhip and Gumroad were read on the dates below. Quay’s Harbor percent and Studio month are whatever this server prints on the pricing page.

The published bills

Gumroad’s pricing page, read 28 Sep 2026, is 10% plus $0.50 on a direct sale and 30% when a new customer buys through Discover. Gumroad describes itself as merchant of record. Payhip’s pricing page, read 8 Oct 2026, is 5% on the free plan, $29 a month plus 2% on Plus, and $99 a month with no Payhip transaction fee on Pro. Payhip says PayPal and Stripe fees are extra.

Harbor has no monthly fee. It keeps an application fee percent on a paid order. Studio is a monthly plan that can lower that percent. Both numbers are on the pricing page because they come from this server’s environment. Stripe’s processing fee is billed to your connected account and is not inside the Harbor percent. Quay does not calculate EU VAT. Payhip says it can.

Who holds the payment

On Quay the buyer pays your Stripe account. Quay can keep an application fee from that charge. Quay is not the merchant of record and does not hold a balance for you. Gumroad’s pricing page describes Gumroad as merchant of record on its own checkout. Payhip can send the buyer through PayPal or Stripe, and it says card and PayPal fees are separate from the Payhip percent.

None of these tools is Etsy. None of them, including Quay, puts your file in Etsy search. If the sale depends on a marketplace audience, the platform fee is not the whole decision.

What you still do by hand

Quay does not import a Gumroad or Payhip catalog. Download your files, recreate each product, and replace the link you share. Leave the old checkout up until people who already have that link know about the new page.

A Harbor account is email and password. Connect Stripe before a real card can be charged. Until a Stripe secret is set on this server, production paid checkout stays closed.
