Quay

Sell online without Etsy fees

Sell online without Etsy’s listing fee or 6.5% transaction fee.

Etsy’s fees policy, read 8 Oct 2026, charges $0.20 to publish a listing and 6.5% when it sells, plus payment processing. Quay does not charge a listing fee. Harbor takes an application fee only after a buyer pays. You do not get Etsy’s search traffic.

What Etsy charges, and what Quay charges instead

On Etsy.com a listing fee is $0.20 USD whether or not the item sells, and listings expire after four months. A sale adds a 6.5% transaction fee on the displayed price. For a US bank account, Etsy Payments adds 3% plus $0.25 on the order. Some sales also pick up Offsite Ads or a regulatory fee. Those extra rates are on Etsy’s fees policy and are not in the example on this page.

Harbor has no listing fee and no monthly fee. Quay keeps an application fee on the paid order. Studio replaces most or all of that fee with a monthly subscription on Quay’s Stripe account. The live Harbor percentage and Studio price are on the pricing page. Stripe’s card processing is billed to your connected account and is not included in Quay’s fee.

What you give up when you leave the marketplace

Etsy sends buyers who are already searching. Quay does not. There is no public marketplace, no search ranking inside Quay, and no Offsite Ads program. You send people to a store link, a product link, or a button you paste into a site, a newsletter, or a bio link.

Quay sells digital goods: a file, a bundle, a membership, a license key, or a pay-what-you-want download. It does not sell physical objects, calculate sales tax, or file EU VAT. If the shop depends on handmade goods or on Etsy as the merchant of record for tax, this is the wrong replacement.

Open the store before the first sale

Signup is email and password. Harbor does not ask for a card. Connect Stripe from settings when you want a real charge. Until that account can take cards, a buyer cannot pay.

Each uploaded file has to be 20 MB or smaller. After payment, the buyer gets an email with a download page that expires after a time and a download count you set.

Questions

Does Quay charge a listing fee?

No. You can publish a product without a per-listing charge. Quay’s Harbor fee is an application fee on a paid order. Studio is a monthly subscription. Stripe’s processing fee is separate.

Will buyers find the product on Quay the way they find it on Etsy?

No. Quay is not a marketplace. You bring the buyer. The public page is there so a link you share has a price, a description, and a checkout.

Are the Etsy numbers on this page a quote for my shop?

They are the public fees read on 8 Oct 2026 from Etsy’s fees policy and the US Etsy Payments processing table. Payment processing changes by country. Recheck those pages before you compare a specific shop.
